School Resource




		“Service Through the Community”

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office maintains a school resource officer at four of the Jackson County Public Schools. Smoky Mountain High School, Blue Ridge School, Scotts Creek Elementary, and the HUB are the schools that are covered by three resource officers. These officers work for the Sheriff but are assigned to work at their school. The resource officer works hand and hand with school officials to make their school a safer place to learn for our children.

In addition to the School Resource Officers assigned to the public schools, the Sheriff’s Office also works with Southwestern Community College to have two full time Deputy Sheriff’s serve on the Sylva campus of SCC.
